I am in the process of rebuilding a 400 for a 1978 f250 4x4. I was basically shooting for a raised CR platform, no head work, no headers, 2150 2bbl and original intake, exhaust manifolds, and a very mild cam, .484/.512 lift flat tappet. My question is what base line do you guys recommend for a 2150 configuration? I have a 2150 from a 1978 4 spd 351m. not high altitude, does have the variable air bleed plunger ran from the cam on the throttle shaft. I would like to get this rascal running good and eventually get AC and cruise operational. I would like to get recommendations on a carb kit for a 2150 (tag gone of course) that would be a starting point at my 6000' elevation as well as power valve recommendations. truck is c6 auto w/ low gear kit, 400 with tmeyer pistons, and 2000 (or less) stall 410 gears, 35" tires, weighs about 6900# and just want it to run like a truck, bumpy roads, slopes, idling, steep boat ramps, towing, mountain passes, and temperature from -10 to 100 degrees ambient air. single stage or dual stage power valve? If there is any carb info I can load to helpI will, but the tag is gone, as is the tag on most of these 2150s I see. Thanks.
