(My apologies if this is a repost. I had posted this earlier but it does not seem to be here anymore)
Anyway, as was eveitable, someone dinged my brand new (< 4 mos) Explorer. It's what I call a "crease dent", in that it's about 2-3 inches long, and looks like someone put a crease in the body panel. It's on the driver's side front fender, and luckily its very hard to see (has to be the right light, and right angle), but it is there.
My question is: Is there any way to (economically, as in not replacing the fender or doing major body work/paiting/etc) repair and/or cosmetically hide such damage? It's not big major enough to warrant a major effort/expense, but it's my brand new baby, so I am sure you all understand =)
Check and see if you have a business called Dent Wizard in your
area. Their specialty is removing small dents, that don't require
repainting... My son took his Prelude to them with a couple of
door dings, and it looked great when it was done!!
Dent wizzard isnt going to be able to get out a crease. They use suction cups for the most part. If you remove the tire and wheel well, you might be able to "push" the dent out from behind with a pry bar or something, but this takes practice and will most likely cause the paint to crack when its pushed back straight. Cracked paint usually eventually flakes off. So basically unless your going to get the fender painted, I wouldnt worry about it until there is a bigger problem on the fender. Just my thoughts thou
