I recently purchased a 2015 F150 XL 2.7 super crew flaming blue. When I got it home and washed, I noticed a ding on the passenger side rear cab corner. While still at the dealer, my son took a pictures of this side of the truck prior to delivery, Sure enough you can see the ding.
I contacted the dealer and was told to bring it in Friday, they have a ding guy. I did, they take my truck back thru the service department. 20 mins later the salesman tells me its not a ding, its a crease from a large dent in the back of the cab between the bed. He then informs me that it will be sent to a body shop for bed removal and cab repair. This truck has less than 300 miles on it.
I refused to have my NEW truck torn apart, sanded, and so on. After 4 hours of fighting, I was told to go pick out another truck. They took the truck as a trade in for full loan value so would could start all over again. I left with a 2015 xlt scab 5.0 black.
The damage had no marks. Im thinking it was painted that way. If not for my sons picture prior to delivery, I may have been stuck with this..
You had to wash your own truck when you bought it? That whole situation sucks. Ford shouldn't have let it leave the plant like that. I'm curious how it would have happened though since most of this is all automated. At least the dealership took care of you, I'm sure they are pissed at Ford over it.
glad your dealer made it right. They won't loose any money on that truck though. Since it's technically used they don't have to worry about the dent and can sell it at a "discount" over new.

Ummm... if they gave him the loan amount back they will take a beating on it. That includes tax tags and everything. Unless the were able to unwind the deal (depends how long it was that you had the truck), they will be losing money. If they unwind the deal they'll have the option to fix the dent and sell it or just leave it as is and sell it, but if the paperwork hadn't been processed then it would still be a new truck.
Had the truck almost 2 weeks, already titled so they will have to sell it used. The dealer did the right thing, it was a battle but worth it. Im getting about 3mpg less with the 5.0. My trade in was an 07 f150 xlt 5.4 lifted with 35s, Very sluggish... This is my 6th truck purchased from said dealer..

Agreed, my 2011 truck had a nice little rust mark on the rear bumper that I discovered after the first wash. I had to fight with Ford, not the dealer for a replacement bumper. Pictures, phone calls and visits to the dealer. What a PITA. The dealer was spot on and backed me all the way.
