that's very true...i didn't think about that doh!
even in mud it is surprising what a good articulating machine will accomplish!
thats why you cut the fenders! look at rock buggys. they need tons of suspention travel, yet they are all low to the ground. so it seems as though low truck, big tires is the best way to go. the exception being mud bog trucks that need to be a little higher to stay out of the goo. also look at desert race trucks... 20" or more of travel and they sit lower than my stock truck. not to argue really. just trying to explain where i justified this comment.

ever been to tellico? or moab? or Badlands ORP? or El Hill? or Sledgehammer?
mall wheelin' doesn't count
BTW...jeeps are a lil different they come with quite a bit of clearnce from the factory....I myself haven't cut my fenders out yet...I am looking for metal wheel wells so that I can. But my bronco has been cut to hell.
my main point was on the trail is gonna get scratched and if you are willing to get it scratched then why not just cut the fenders out and go with that? Helluva lot easier in my opinion, but what do I know? I don't wheel any and I am all talk

Lol. But there is allot of truth to what you were saying, even if I'm kind of a funky exception. Mine is primarily a mud bogger, but the only reason I can even wheel on the trail with my lift is because my custom suspension articulates so well. Generally, its better to stuff the biggest tires your drivetrain can accomodate, lift it just a little, and cut the fenders the rest of the way.
Anyways, I'm all about sticking my nose in and ruining arguments
