I have a 1979 F100. The hazards work just fine but the individual signal lights blink at an incredibly slow rate (every 30 seconds if they work at all). What could it be?
thanks
Hey,
I just finished working on my t-signal lights up front. The ground wire on the radiator support seemed to control the speed of my signals. My problem was the passenger side T-signal indicator on the instrument panel stayed illuminated all the time. The drivers side didnt. The front marker light on the Passenger side didnt work. Replaced the bulb, traced the wires and all seemed fine. Couldnt find the problem. I pulled the socket from the light lense. I noticed the ground was rusted inside the socket and did not make contact with the bulb. I jumped a ground to the exterior of the bulb. Guess what, the T-signal indicator light went out and the signal worked at normal speed. Seems the wires inside the socket are all bad. The socket looks good on the outside. When I pull on the wires like i'm gonna pull them out of the socket, the marker light will come on. Hope this helps, it took my about 2 or 3 hours to locate the problem. good luck friend.
You said you replaced the flasher ( singular ). You do know that there are 2 of them right. One for flashers and one for turn signals. I'll bet you changed the wrong one.
