Diablo Preditor Problems
No worries. Tuning has many variables. There are things that can happen, very few of which cannot be resolved. For instance, a blown cigarette lighter fuse will cause the tuner to not power up. Replace the fuse and its no problem. Or if you take your truck into the dealer you need to restore the tune to stock to prevent them from overwriting the performance tune.
Or restrictive air filters causing high EGTs. We've identified the Ford AIS as having the problem at high boost. Or, dealers telling customers its okay to tow in the high settings without taking air flow and EGT precautions. They are also more sensitve to poor quality fuel. Low cetane ratings cause more smoke and "non-optimal" mileage (45 or higher cetane is recommended). A good cetane booster additive will solve that.
For the average person, none of these are issues, except maybe the fuel quality. So long as you take care of your truck while its tuned it will give you a long service life.
