Has anyone installed a custom dash? I would love to see pics. I am thinking about fabricating one myself for my 59. I have seen custom dashes in Classic Trucks magazine that I like with round pods for each of the gauges. It is a sweet look.
J&B Microfinish is designing an insert for the 57-60 truck dash. They are working the prototype now. If you had anything special you wanted done to one, contact them. They make inserts for 53-55 and 61-66 trucks. www.jbmicrofinish.com
I'm not sure if you mean the instrument panel or and extension panel (below the dashboard) There are lots of places that have custom dashes. There are several choices to choose from in the type of finish you are looking for in a plate, you buy the plate get the instruments you desire or you can get the digital ones ready to be hooked up. There are also several manual one ready to install. Mid-fifty also has the dash extension or you can fabricate one that can hold some instruments or AC vents. Thay also have regular dash insert and gauges.

There was a 1960 on ebay awhile back that had a mid 60's ford product cluster in place of the original piece. It hung over top the dash but looked very cool.
I've also seen some of the C-series(cab overs) from different years that look to have the same dash piece(only this one instead of the stars on each side has two more big guages.) Third, any fairly good size machine shop could make you a custom panel. Its just a flat piece of alumiumn and could even be ball milled. Just a thought, -4speed
I mean the whole thing from door to door, from the firewall back, glovebox and everything. Like taking a dash out of say a mustang, and graphing it into a Truck
i think it was my classic car tv show had a 56 with a 60's impala
dash and it looked pretty good. no info on it though. i guess yu could make anything work just measure,measure..and then measure some more
Yeah, it won't be a bolt in process. I'd have say a 1959 car dash or similar would be cool.
Another idea would be to take a dash surround(the raised part) of another 59 f-100 dash and put it over by the glovebox area and mold clean the guage holes of the guage panel and put some hinges on the bottom of the panel and have it fold down for a glove box. Like the 57 chevy dashes with the symetrical dash. Yeah, I know I think too much, -4speed
