starting problems

recently my truck has been giving me some problems. whenever i crank over the engine starting it up it takes a little while (10-15 secs). i was wonder what causes this. it only happens when its cold. i don't know if this is typical or what. i have a 5.8efi

do you mean the starter drags and turns very slow or do you mean it turns fine but just does not fire right up

if the starter is dragging then get it rebuilt. how long has the motor had a good tune up. plugs,wires ,cap ,rotor ,fuel filter

the starter is fine, the engine just takes a little while to catch. it also had a tune up just a short while ago.

maybe you have a weak ignition module or a weak coil

ok, thanks. i had been planning on upgrading the ignition to an msd system
