I need to purchase some new tires for my 2000 F250 SD. I want to get some that are larger than the stock 235's w/o adding a lift. What is the best tire to put under it?
A good choice might be the 285/75-16. They fit w/o a lift. Others have put on 295's and 305's successfully. Have your tire dealer mount a few choices, a good one will do that for you.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Dec-02 AT 05:17 PM (EST)]I'll second the vote for 285 75R16's. I put a set of BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A's on my truck a year ago, and absolutely love them. Good traction, not very noisy, easy to keep balanced. I like the 285's because they don't over power a non lifted truck, they don't stick out far past the wheel wells, your not getting into the larger tires that are hard to keep balanced. I have "zero" complaints with mine. I did a lot of shopping for mine, no matter where you find these tires they will coast $167.00 plus/minus a few dollars.

He's right on the money up there. 285/75-16 will fit just fine, 99.9% guaranteed that you have no problems. 295's should fit as well, but I for one don't want to take any chances with rubbing when I go over bumps. The 305's may be a bit of a stretch, but just like CO4x4SD said, others have done it.
