My laptop used to have a cable modem and dialup built in. Now it's just a big empty spot where it used to be.
At home I use ADSL Telus.net about $40.00Cdn per month.

If you need a credit card, open an account with a big national bank (Bank Of America in your area) that gives you a debit card that doubles as a VISA. With a deposit, most card issuers such as Capital One will be happy to send you a credit card.
I have one from Capital One and one from my Credit union, but I can't use either one due to reasons not discussed here.
