why are we ignoring the fact that regardless of the laws enforcement or not, we have a legal and moral obligation to cut back significantly on the garbage we are pumping into the lungs of our children and their children, and we are blowing it of as "stupid" and "who cares"??

If you are REALLY interested in clean air, then sell your truck and don't drive at all. That would make a difference. Also, don't use gas powered lawnmowers, weedwackers, mini bikes, go karts, generators, etc. And also don't use any electricity, cuz most of it is generated by coal and oil fuel that pollutes terribly.

I say the same thing to people who state the Indians really took a screwing from us, when we took all their land. That statement is very true, what our ancestors did was wrong. But if that is how they feel, they should GIVE their home and land back to the Indians, not just complain about it.

It's called having the strength of your convictions, talk alone means very little.

Just so you know, cantedvalveFord, when I posted my response pertaining to the "check engine light". I was speaking of my import, Korean made. I believe everyone to that point was speaking in regards to newer vehicles as well.

There is significant evidence that clearly illustrates that those manufactured vehicles will not function properly if you change any of the manufacturers rom chips or rather reprogram them. The engine is already near it's maximum potential in regards to performance. The only other option would be to add a turbo charger or super charger to that particular engine. Period. Even then you would have to lower the factory compression ratio and use stronger alloys in conjunction with this modification in order to withstand the additional strain being put on the engine.

As far as your "Typical juvenile flame response from Missouri", I take that quit personal. First, I was not flaming you nor anyone else. I was simply stating a fact from personal experience. Something apparently you do not understand or completely over looked when I stated my opinion was from personal experience. Experience with a new vehicle, not a 1976 classic. Secondly, you have put yourself in a delicate situation when you assumed to have all the answers when discussing the internal combustion engine - you do not. I do not. But I would be a little more careful in my responses. And finally, I do not wish to create a personal confrontation between us, I value anyone who can provide additional information on these vehicles. Especially, when it comes from someone with personal experience - not just book knowledge.

So, with that said - thank you for the information pertaining to the function of the exhaust gas recirculation valve as used on our classics.

"typical juvenile response"...if you only knew my friend...if you only knew.
