This is a weird one to me. I have a 26 450 and a 24 Bronco. Both vehicles will occasionally blast me with a rush of fresh air while dricing. Recirc button still on. Only way I’ve found to stop it is to double tap the recirc button.
Is there some kind of cycling ford has built in to keep cabin air fresh? I’ve not had this issue before with any other vehicles.
The HVAC control module adjusts the system based on cabin temperature. The in-vehicle and humidity sensor, the HVAC control module also adjusts the air inlet door depending on the humidity measured by the in-vehicle temperature and humidity sensor. If the vehicle cabin becomes too humid and recirculated air is selected, the HVAC control module adjusts the air inlet door to allow more fresh air. When the humidity level drops, it adjusts back to partial recirculated air.
Is part of the "doing what it is intended to do" require the driver to cycle the recirc button to get it to stop or will it eventually close off the fresh air as part of the cycling? It's a crazy cfm difference once it opens.
I have also experienced this and asked about it previously but this response makes the most sense. I have tried to time the occurrences on long trips and it seems to happen to me about every 30-35 minutes and last for about 2-3 minutes before going back to normal air flow.
