What companies do people recommend for carb kits and parts? My '64 with a 390 has a smaller motorcraft 2barrel carb with its tag.
Since the engine and carb are not original to the truck, i'm not sure which kit to buy.
Thanks for any info.

Check Rock Auto for Standard brand, I've used them for years with zero problems.
That isn’t the original carb. You can have one of the aforementioned carb places look up the correct jets, and change them . You might be able to look that info up yourself, someone here might know where to find the info? Possibly over at Fordification?
As Numberdummy used to say, the rubber parts can dry out from sitting on the shelf, so make sure that those parts are still pliable. The kits that I have used covered different variants of the same carb, so I didn’t use all of the parts in the kit.
Years ago, Number Dummy said the carb was for a smaller newer engine, ( '70s 302 or 351) I don't remember the details. The engine died while I was driving to work. It started stuttering, lost power and stopped. The engine will crank and sometime start to fire, but then nothing. I rebuilt the carb about ten years ago and don't remember when I last did a tune up. This weekend I plan on checking the plugs, points and condenser, dwell etc. I had the truck towed home. After work, under the hood smelled like I had flooded the engine. Plenty of gas will squirt when operating the accelerator pump.
Let the fun continue.
