Anyone know roughly how long these EGR valves last on the 10th Gen F150 ?
I have 105 k miles on mine ...
I'm thinking I might change it at the very least.
Does the idle smooth out on a new EGR valve ?
I'm noticing the idle drops to 500 rpm and some very, very slight vibrations....similiar to a mild misfire.
No CEL.
There's new plugs, good gas, good oil ....
8 yrs ago the EGR lines were rotted and I replaced them.
I left the original EGR valve on.
Motorcraft EGR valves are not available anymore.
What's a good aftermarket EGR valve ?

Ya but with the OEM Motorcraft EGR valve, in order to clean it...
You would need to uninstall it and let it soak at least overnight in throttle body cleaner sprayed into all its ports...
The EGR valve can't be disassembled and then briefly sprayed into with cleaner

Whatever gen, mine is stock and has been on there since 1994 on 1 truck and 1997 on the other
They basically never fail
I've replaced about 6 in 40 + years

They don't really get carboned up or need cleaning
You can check it by applying vacuum at idle and the engine will die (open valve)
Let go of the vacuum and the engine will not die (closed valve)
We used to pull them off and check them once in a while if the vehicle would not idle
Anything 1996 and newer with a DPFE sensor you just wait for the light to come on and then deal with it (still never need an actual valve) getting one to pass I/M
I saw on YouTube that you could spray CRC into EGR valve without uninstalling it, by pulling off the vacuum tube and letting the cleaner soak into the valve.
Why make work? I have removed them, never replaced as never really go bad. If suspect it do the vac test or block off with an extra gasket and beer can, but you will throw a P0401 if you care.
