Adding remote start XLT

My 2023 XLT does not have remote start. The app works fine but was wanting remote start via FOB. I have added an additional 4 button FOB with remote start but no starting. What is needed to get the factory option working? perimeter module or what? Thanks in advance and any help is appreciated,

Nevermind, Works great after figuring out it is a single quick press and a long second press on the remote. No Forscan or modules after all. Just a $17 remote from the web.

Could you expand on the module you bought? Does it need to be programmed to work?

My XLT has the remote start key fob option. I hit lock, then the remote start button twice.

Hmm. Count me in on wanting more information about the fob you purchased. I'm wondering if that will work for my F-150 STX.

I didn't buy any modules or altered the programming. Just bought a FOB from Ebay, cut the blade and added to the FOB to the truck using the other two non-remote starting FOBs.

Here is the FOB I purchased.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Apologies for my ignorance - what steps did you take to add the FOB so it would work? I've only done it on Audis where there's a sequence of turning the ignition on (or off, can't remember), lock the door twice with the key, then hold down a button on the FOB until the car beeps. Did you need to do something like that?

I first tried the 8 on-off cycle method that most sites have. That didn't work but does give the factory key code. Here is what worked...

Programming Instructions Step by Step:
Use these instructions if your Ford F250-550 has the flip key system.

A maximum of eight keys can be programmed to your vehicle. To program a key yourself, you will need two previously programmed keys (keys that already operate your vehicle's engine) and the new unprogrammed key(s) readily accessible for timely implementation of each step in the procedure.
Please read and understand the entire procedure before you begin.
1. Insert the first previously programmed key into the ignition and turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON position (maintain ignition in the ON position for at least one second, but no more than 10 seconds).
2. Turn ignition from the ON position back to the OFF position in order to remove the first programmed key from the ignition.
3. After three seconds but within 10 seconds of removing the first previously programmed key, insert the second previously programmed key into the ignition and turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON position (maintain ignition in the ON position for at least one second but no more than 10 seconds).
4. Turn the ignition from the ON position back to the OFF position in order to remove the second programmed key from the ignition.
5. After three seconds but within 10 seconds of removing the second programmed key, insert the new unprogrammed key (new key/valet key) into the ignition and turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON position (maintain ignition in the ON position for at least one second, but no more than 10 seconds). This step will program your new key to a programmed key.
6. To program additional new unprogrammed key(s), repeat Steps 1 through5.
If successful, the new programmed key(s) will start the vehicle's engine and operate the remote functions.
