Bleeding Brakes Problem

I have a 2006 F150 4.6 Liter with 285000 miles on it. I just replaced the calipers and rotors and pads all the way around the truck. Before this the brake system was working fine except that the brakes were down to metal on a couple of them. I have bled the brakes four times now and the pedal still goes almost all the way to the floor. We kept constant check on master cylinder reservoir to make sure it didn't go empty. I am stumped at this point I have never had any problems bleeding brakes before.

Maybe a bad caliper? Probably remanufactured so anything is possible.

Sounds like the air is in the ABS module..... 1st use a OBDII program to activate the ECU brake bleed program... then I bet it will be ok. If you don't have a software program to do this, then take the truck on a dirt road and hit the brakes a few times to activate the ABS.

did you pre-fill the new calipers ? check the brake lines, collapsed or pinched.

Since you changed all calipers, there may be a lot of air in the system. If you did not cap the brake lines while the caliper was off, gravity can drain the system.

A pressure bleeder is a great tool. It can quickly bleed a system. It's also useful for brake fluid flushes. Motive makes a good one.
