The more expensive polycarbonate lenses handle scratches better, for a future purchase. Get temples with a flexible hook. As for polishing, they have plastic polishes for that, US Plastics is where I get most of my plastic stuff.
I caught the end of an infomertial late nite about a week ago that was selling just what you are looking for. Too bad I have no idea who, what, where or how much this item is. It is a polymer liquid that the seller says fills the scratches without changing the perscription and is ok for all types of lenses including sunglasses.
I think it was $25.00 so keep your eyes open and a pen handy.

If anyone finds this stuff please let me know!! My scratches have scratches!!
For small scratches on plastic lenses, in the past I've used some Pledge cleaner and a box of tissue paper. Spent the better part of an hour (in front of the TV) spraying some Pledge, wiping with a tissue, spraying some more, etc... until the scratch became unnoticable. It actually worked pretty good on filling the scratch, and I couldn't notice it while wearing them.
Thanks man..I may give it a shot. Did the ad say or show how well this stuff worked? I hate to invest 20 bucks in a tube of renamed toothpaste or something goofier, if it isn't for a LOT of scratches. Luckily, I just found my 2nd set, so I'm not at the see"T" fuzzy stage for a while anyway. I realize all products will say they are THE stuff to use, so its probably a waste of time to ask about the quality of the stuff. I hate those specialty 1/2 hour advertisement shows.....snake oil salesmen.
It really just looked like a crayon of some type to wipe the scratches away. Whether it works or not who knows? It is probably good on minor scratches and probably not so good on the deep ones.
Thanks...I think I'll try the Pledge first. I hate investing in something that is touted as the "perfect" thingie. It usually is more expensive than it's worth and doesn't do half of what it's supposed to do.
