I have a 67 F100 240 with a C4. . It is lightly used, 25k miles since a rebuild 20
years ago.. A quality shop recently pulled it and replaced all seals.
It still leaks onto the driveway after sitting for five or so days, Not as bad as bfore.
I am at a loss. What could be going on? Leaking torque converter flooding seals?
Anybody have any advice or ideas?
Do you have any idea about where the leak is? Could be as simple as a pan gasket leak from over tightening, could be the shaft seal on the shifter shaft. There are a lot of possibilities but you need to see about where its leaking.
Well, I got one for you
First off
I am no trans man
However I do have a Ford masters in Chassis and have been fully schooled and such
Means 50cents and that'll buy a cup of coffee
Buddies '64 Falcon C4 leaked, been to every shop in town, finally got me over there
It had also been rebiult and all the seals replaced and a new torque converter
It leaked when parked like yours
I pulled the trans back out and resealed the front pump oince more and a new converter gasket
#rd time is a charm, right?
Wrong!
** the damn thing had a pinhole in the dipstick tube where the mounting tab was welded on there from day1 it looked like
