2016 xlt .every time i use my factory remote start I get P0308.I've tried swaping around the plug and coil but it doesn't change. The miss fire only occurs when using remote start not while starting normally with the key.It sets a dtc and then the remote start stops functioning untill i erase it.this all started back in january but was only every once in a while now it is every time i use remote start.any ideas would be great cause i would like to fix it before next winter
Or the spark plugs. As the ignition switch isn’t on yet, so you don’t have anything but the battery voltage running the truck. So, check both the battery, and the spark plugs if they have over 40k miles on them.
actually never thought of the battery ill try that. as i have a brand new one sitting here for it and the plugs could use a swap as the truck has 200k and i have no clue when they were last changed because i bought it with 180 on it. come to think of it i do notice a slight hesitation after 2 rolls when manually starting it so could very well be the battery thanks for the insight greatly appreciated

Make sure you put that new battery on a trickle charger before you install it. Putting it in a 100% charge vs 75-80% make a big difference. I think the best charge I've seen on a brand new battery is 90%.
