7.3 engine wiring harness identity

My Canadian-purchased and registered 2000 7.3 has a wiring harness that’s pretty dirty and starting to fray, so I’m looking into replacing it with a ford 7.3 main engine harness assembly.
What’s confusing me is that Canadian vehicles usually follow U.S. Federal emissions regulations, but the under-hood sticker on mine says it meets California non-catalyst emissions standards. The truck has no EGR and no catalytic converter. To make things even stranger, the VIN doesn’t return any useful information in the Ford parts system.
While searching Amazon and eBay, I found part number F81Z-12B637-EA listed as fitting 1999–2001 Federal Emissions engines, though it doesn’t specifically mention the Excursion.
Has anyone dealt with this before or know if this is the correct ford 7.3 main engine harness assembly for my setup? I feel like I’m missing something because the information I’m finding seems incomplete.

No idea...I can only recommend Ford dealer, Riffraff or CNC fab to verify through the VIN/ expertese.

The part number you listed, google says not for California engines. I imagine you have a glow plug controller and not relay? Not sure what you are working on but see you mentioned Excursion towards the end

Do you have a truck or an Excursion? I kind of remember the Excursions being built to CA emissions. I'm not 100% certain, but hopefully someone else can confirm or discredit.

I thought we could tell by the Glow Plug Relay versus Glow Plug Control Module, with the GPCM being on “CA” trucks (and Excursions).

Of course please wait for someone with more knowledge to confirm or refute my statement.

Pretty sure the earlier models used a relay with a shunt to monitor current on each bank. Later models had a control module, but both were CA emissions, I think.

I think you’re right. I forgot about the shunt. Still could tell it’s CA emissions if it has a shunt or GPCM though correct?

02-03 non ca https://a.co/d/070ZoBLaE99 harness https://a.co/d/00Qzk28rca model with gpcm instead of relay https://a.co/d/0aoKkBkzPre 98 harness https://a.co/d/00DZaXSA

The gpcm changed mid harness years so you'll have to check and see which you have gpcm or relay. E99 is different than all other years. 02 03 non ca model fits most 2000 and 2001 years.

I guess the easiest way to tell would be to find the emissions certification sticker under the hood, if it's still there and original. That'll say whether it's CA or federal emissions. Otherwise, looking it up by VIN might work.
