It is fortunate that it didn't hit the side of the truck. I had a boss in the 90's that had a deer run into the side of his car. It looked like he had been t-boned. Took out the mirror, door and a quarter panel. No deer to worry about up here, but I pray I never hit a moose! I have invested a good bit of money on lights for all of our vehicles to try and prevent it from happening. Glad you are okay and it wasn't worse.
I had a big buck ram my '05 in the drivers door. It was night and I was doing about 60; just barely saw him put his head down and ram me. The buck lost, but not before he did about $5k damage. The body shop could not believe he bent the door side protection beam. New bumper & lights and you'll be good as new. I have Ranch Hand guards on my trucks; they are great; pay for themselves; if you can take the deer head on.
Yup, IF they decide to run in front, which the ones I've hit have... if they misjudge and hit the side, they don't help at'all...
Well, I sure don't need the extra weight of a front bull bar on my truck, and they're ugly too.
I get a kick though out of the 18 wheelers I see with them, and they won't stay up and are hanging down sticking straight out as the truck goes down the road.

Not a fan of the look or additional weight of Ranch Hand style bumps. They don’t always prevent the vehicle from being damaged.
I just drive more cautiously in higher risk situations.
2020 DRW. A guy cut me off at a gas station and in the process of avoiding him I clipped the pole at the end of the fuel island. Took the halogen headlight out, bent the bumper and put a small dent in the front fender. The bumper end bent back and bent a bracket. At the tip of the fender where it meets the bumper there is a bracket that is spot welded to the trucks front structure. The fix is to replace the entire front structure of the truck, ALOT of stuff had to come off. Estimated 16 hrs labor. $3500 to repair just the bracket and the guy said that was cheap. When I asked can't you just straighten it? It's behind the bumper you cant see it. The answer was no, must be oem. I was not happy about having the entire front of the truck taking off and put back on with no problems. The entire estimate was 11K. I'm in Texas so superduty headlights and bumpers are plentyful because a lot of folks swap for led and aftermarket bumpers. So I picked up a headlight and front bumper for $300 off marketplace Took about 6 hours, the bracket was fairly easy to straighten, left the small dent. Before and after.
Yeah, looking like that may be the route I take.
Just checked my insurance, both comp and collision are each a grand deductible, so my cost for a claim would be the same either way.
Plus the possible rate increase on the next renew.
So, if I can find the parts cheap and install them myself for less than a grand, I think that is the best way.

Yeah, the insurance scam, pay for coverage for years, heaven forbid you have to use it, then your rates go up... what the actual FF?!
Had a big argument/fight with Mercury yrs ago after wife's accident, I pointed out that I had paid them over 12k through the years, repairs from accident were 4500, you're still AHEAD at LEAST 7500! Luckily my agent agreed and I had no rise in premiums or anything, but it took some time gathering info and arguing with them, still hate the whole "insurance" industry and the BS they pull.
Personally I like the Ranch Hand look, and I can say they have paid for themselves, had a young lady 10 yrs or so ago drop her phone AND coffee whilst driving and slam on her brakes, I nailed her backside, luckily she was honest about it so I didn't get reamed by my insurance co. Her car, damage was ~$5k, my truck suffered from some white paint on Ranch Hand... and honestly, I don't notice the weight, if anything it helps smooth out the ride on both of them
Well, I'm on a F250, and I really can't go for all that extra weight up front.
And, I don't care for the look of it.
Finding some stuff on FB marketplace, we'll see...
Heck, after looking around some, I am thinking about replacing both headlight assemblies.
Can get a pair of LED assemblies with harnesses, modules and the resistors built in for lots less than I thought.
I can be like one of those guys that are always blinding me with their misaligned LED lights that they don't dim the high beams on!

Well, can get a stock replacement halogen aftermarket headlight assembly with new bulbs in it for $116 and a new bumper, just the base part, no plastics, for $265 on ebay, delivered to my door by the 11th.
Or, I can get a complete OEM bumper, plastics and all, less harness and fog lamps, brand new take-off for about $600 from marketplace.
