Hi, I am Looking for some advice on pulling the Motor on my 1989 Ford F-250 4x4 351 Windsor, My Goal is to do a Gasket/Seal, refresh I currently have the radiator core support out of the truck and the whole front end off.
I have an Engine hoist and leveller and intend to put the motor on a stand to work on. I want to hook the ''L'' Brackets of the leveller to each corner of the motor to keep it even while lifting.
For the front of the motor I am going to use the head accessory bolt holes where the Alternator and power steering bracket bolts into the head. I am not sure where to hook on the back of the motor, I am not going to use the exhaust manifold bolts or studs as they are far too rusted to even attempt to get out,(I will replace the manifold and bolts when engine is out aswell),
I also would prefer to not pull the top Intake plenum off either. I
I am Looking for any advice or suggestions,
Thank you in advance
All vacuum lines and Wiring is disconnected, this Photo is old, Note the Bull Bar is also off.
Yup
Use a chain and the bolt holes on the ends of each head or use the factory lifting brackets
You might find that any leveling bar will just be a pain in the ****
I like this tool of mine, bolts to the lower plenum. Just another option. Moved my roller 351 to a stand with it and held up the 302 to do an oil pan gasket
