Flex Plate number 2
My trucks flexpate wore out and wouldn’t start now it’s back to it. ~3 years ago I swapped it but not the starter as the teeth looked great. Unfortunately the starter threads were done and installed 2 time serts. (Drill a bigger hole screw in ss insert) Now the starter holes have to be drilled out to accommodate larger bolts. Of course these engines seem to shut down in the same place were the teeth are gone. Is the possibility of play with larger holes be cause for concern and should I replace the adapter plate ? perhaps this time need to measure with a a caliper and purchase the exact drill bit down in 1/128 scale. New flex plate and denso starter en route

I've found instead of going larger diameter with the starter bolts, you can simply go longer as the stock bolts don't go in that deep and there's still alot of thread left untouched. I know you're past this point, but something to consider later...
