Dennis that may not be as old as you think, Amazon still sells a very similar Fuji Quicksnap disposable camera.
As an aside, back in the early to late 90's those cameras were popular at weddings and parties in which the host would lay them out and let the guests take pictures. The hosts would then collect them at the end of the night. All sorts of rude, juvenile, sillyness and debauchery was captured on film - anonymously - if you tried hard enough.
lol i walked through my local Walmart and Target only about 5 years ago to realize......."hey wait!!! where's the film develop counter???"
Apparently I hadn't been paying attention for 5 or more years because people I knew suggested they had been removed for some time. It was that day I asked....so how do I develop film if I bought it?
Bygone era...
My nephew was a chemical engineer at Kodak for many years, he had quite a few interesting stories about film and the chemicals used in the processing of it. It's kinda amazing how fast the technology moved on...
My wife says there are places that still develop film. As we are starting to downsize we found some old cameras with film in them. We don't know what's on the film. It will be interesting to see what and who are in the pictures.

I was always amazed by the fact Kodak invented the digital photo technology back in the 70's but sat on it and shelved it because they wanted to sell film and little cameras.

That single decision killed the company and forced them to file for bankruptcy.

My dad had some "emotional difficulties" as he got older and what startes as "A few disposable cameras that need to go" became "grocery bags of cameras" So one day 15 years ago he was forced to develop them all, nothing interesting but random photos he took.

Ya know I tell myself every day that Sears could have invented the "Amazon model" many years prior...anybody could have. Target, Walmart, etc.
None of them did and now everyone is playing catchup with Amazon. They sell things for the cheapest AND they offer industry leading shipping for free. So many businesses are struggling now because it takes them 5 business days to ship their product--and Amazon can have it delivered Sunday or even on a Holiday by some kid diving his own car for pennys.
