Weird oil cooler setup

Picked up this short block with a strange oil cooler. Looks like air to air but it didn't have the actual cooler. Should I keep it?

Looks like someone's attempt at an air to oil cooler and to me, a bad attempt.

Not sure if you plan to re-use it, if not scrap it.

Yeah it's pretty ugly. I think I'll just put my stock oil cooler in it from my other engine. It's only a couple years old.

I wouldn't use it either. The aluminum welding looks alright, but overall execution is dreadful. One of the fittings looks like it was tapped crooked too.

yeah i don’t hate the idea of it and did consider using it, but it’s ugly as hell, and the crookedness hurts my brain.
