I agree. There is absolutely nothing wrong with carrying insurance. I recognize that I have likely saved far more money by not carrying insurance or purchasing additional warranties but for me it is more about not wanting to focus on what might go wrong. I just don’t let stuff concern me until I have to be concerned about it. So for instance I am running 15 year old tires on my 5ver. They look like new… they’ve virtually never been out side and so far I’ve never had a problem. Some people would have replaced these tires twice already….. just for insurance. If I end up with a flat tire …. I’ll deal with it then.

That was EXACTLY what the Soviets thought prior to the Chernobyl explosion. Look where that got them...

The level of risk associated with a vehicle or a house all but DEMANDS that, unless you're independently wealthy, you carry insurance on those items. Unless you find the thought of one bad circumstance leaving you homeless and without wheels to be enticing, I guess.

You’re absolutely right, I would think most home owners are going to either be required to carry insurance, or at least feel the need to insure their home. Vehicles and RVs are a little different. It wouldn’t surprise me to discover many people who have an insignificant percentage of their net worth tied up in depreciating assets like RVs and vehicles.

call your agent for sure

my insurance covers trailers hooked to my pickup, and I have roadside assistance / towing on my camper policy (my insurance company does not cover campers or boats)

some folks say it’s not worth it (an extra $6 a year for additional peace of mind) but totally up to you

I did find out that emergency roadside assistance was already part of my insurance coverage for our 5th wheel through State Farm. It actually includes quite a bit of perks.

I have Geico on the 5th wheel. full coverage. had an accident in 2021 that required the 5th wheel to be towed and repaired. The policy also covered loss of food and replacement of a couple items in the trailer that broke.
All covered.

Truck was in the end totaled and fully covered to include a rental truck home.

Pretty good. Have progressive commerical on the truck right now. So far, all that was needed was a jump start once due to my error. Came out right away.

I have AAA premier with RV coverage. It covers you for a tow of your truck and trailer up to 250 miles. Worth the price of $200/year in my opinion. Was glad to have the coverage when the radiator blew in my old ‘99 F250 going up Steven’s pass on I90. They towed both my truck and trailer back home

Hey, just curious, did Ford cover the replacement or push blame back on you claiming water or bad fuel?

Suck either way. My truck just rolled 52k and your story made my *** pucker. Might he time for a disasters kit... you think that would have helped you?

They actually did cover all of it with zero issues. I was surprised after reading all the horror stories.
