Roadside assistance plans

I tow a 27 ft travel trailer with my '99 f250 super duty. I've always had good luck I never had a breakdown on the road but I'm starting to get concerned in my old age and the fact that I'm using it a lot more since I retired.

Does anybody have any experience with any of these so-called roadside assistance plans for trailer and tow vehicle? Will any of these tow both the trailer and my truck if I have a breakdown on the road? Thanks for any info.

I have State Farm on my tow vehicle and 5th wheel. I am fulltime and I have had to use the roadside assistance to tow my truck & trailer two times. I had a 2005 Ford with a 6.0 so a roadside assistance plan was a must and paid for itself.
My 5th wheel has roadside assistance for another year I believe and the tires have a roadside assistance plan also if I have a tire related failure but I only used State Farm and I think I had to pay $50 out of pocket for a $3k tow in Canada.
IF it is a tow company that doesn't work through the "system" I can just send State Farm the receipt. The downfall is that there is a mileage limit how far they will cover for the tow with a caveat that if there isn't a shop or dealership within so many miles.
I now have a 2022 and Ford offers roadside service but I still have my State Farm plan cause it's only a couple dollars a month.

Good Sam is constantly emailing me to sign up for their plan but I can't beat $3-$4/month.

Like a drug dealer, Good Sam will give you a killer deal when you first sign up. It's expensive after that. I was using Good Sam because the plan also covered my kids. However, I found out this year that the kids are no longer covered because they're over 25 years of age.

The AAA Premier plan shows that it will cover the tow vehicle and trailer.

There's a thread around here somewhere in the towing section I believe where the different towing insurance companies were discussed.

I found out the hard way. Have American family on everything. Home, cars, camper, truck, life. The camper policy neglected to mention any towing and they didn't. Never realized since I requested towing insurance on all vehicles. Truck before present one blew transmission seal. Nearest town had a bend over backwards for you body shop towing service. The transmission shop that had previously rebuilt it sent a roll back and gave us a ride home, stayed all night Saturday night to fix and delivered it back no charge. We sat on the side of the road in the camper while the body shop towed truck and came back for us and the camper. They leveled the camper and plugged it into power since a had a vacations worth of food in it. Check your policy. A big thank you to Iowa Transmission Rebuilder in Independence Iowa and East Side Body Shop Inc in Belle Plaine Iowa. AmFam wouldn't pay for towing on camper and didn't offer it at the time. Check your coverage.

I did a little more research on the insurance policy for my truck and it turns out that the truck policy extends to anything towed by the truck. And since I have full coverage, it covers both my trailer and the contents of the trailer. The only thing it doesn't cover is towing for the trailer. It does cover towing for my truck. And Liberty mutual doesn't have anything to cover towing on a trailer so I would need some kind of specialty insurance for just towing coverage on a trailer.

I have AAA including trailer towing . I haven't had to use the trailer towing part yet, but it's there if I need it.
