oil pressure sender

hi, i would like to know if there is any other way u can get oil pressure on a 460 engine the sender is on back of the engine now. i dont have any oil pressure the oil pump is working took off the valve cover and started engine oil was coming out of the holes i also have a oil relocation kit and the oil filter has oil in it. i dont get any oil to the sender hole for the gauge. any one of a different spot such as the head to grab the oil pressure?

its a 1986 f250 4x4 460 4speed manual.

IF your truck has an oil filter adapter(oil filter not directly attached to the block), there should be some pipe plugs there where you can tap into. I did it on my 93, but ended up just puting a new sensor on the back of the motor. You need a special socket to remove the old sensor. I used a 12 point socket and it worked to remove mine.

i got it to work. had the dang hoses cross on the oil relocation kit. does anyone know where i can get 12v when the key is on? i need to hook up a aftermarket gauge and it needs 12v.

I would tap into the radio power, Its good for a few amps, thats about it. But it is easy to get at. The only problem with that is that its on when you turn the key back too. ON my rig I tapped into the fuel selector switch to run my oil pressure gauge. So when the fuel pumps are on my gauge works.

i was thinking about the radio to. the fuel selector switch thats mark front and rear?. i also need a 12v source for a Electric choke carb. dont know if i wanna tap the radio for the gauge and the choke or spilt them

You can run a wire from the altinator output power or from the ignition post on the starter soliniod for the choke. Personally I would run the gauge hot wire from the turn signals. They only work when the key is on.
