I'm putting in a reman. 351m and I lost the crankshaft bolt from the old engine. Do you guys know where I can get a replacement? The parts stores don't have any. Thanks.
The best place to get new hardware for our older Fords is Automotive Racing Products(ARP). I have been having problems finding new hardware for my F250 locally but ARP has a bolt kit for the 429/460 that is pretty complete in fact I had hardware left over to use elsewhere. I spent a little extra and purchased the stainless package and I have to admit they look pretty good againt gloss black! There stainless is rated higher than grade8 which suits me just fine. I believe in overkill, that way under normal to moderate operation I don't have to worry about broken bolts on the trail. Grade 8 is 120,000psi & the ARP stainless is rated at 170,000 to 190,000. You have to spend a little more but the cost is worth it! If you think you can't afford it, try living without it at 12,500ft. with not another soul in sight and where's a tow truck when you need one.
