2026 F350 not recognizing key fobs
2026 F350 not recognizing key fobs
Wondering if anyone has experienced this issue. Brand new 350 Lariat purchased in November started not recognizing key fobs a couple of months ago. I put new batteries in fobs first thing. No help. Fobs have become useless. Only way to operate truck is to lay the fob in little slot in center console. Dealer really has no clue why this is happening and want to pull down headliner and look for crimped or broken wires. Not really wild about them doing this
My 2025 owners manual says that there could be electronic interference with a phone if it is close to the fob. You could try disconnecting the batteries and reconnect after a resting the system and it could reset.
I would try that before thinking the wires are the problem. Might have to take it to a dealer unless someone else has a better idea.

I would ask the dealer to reprogram the key fobs. That seems like the easiest and most logical place to start.
If that doesn't work, I would have them reflash the trucks computer.
If that doesn't work, then the keyless entry module may be defective.
That's at least three areas to look into before the dealer starts ripping your truck apart.

I would probably try resetting the electronics first - remove the negative cable from both batteries for 10-15 minutes then reconnect them to reset all modules. This has worked for other gremlins like proximity fob issues and door handle touch sensors. Quick, free, and easy to try at least
