Truck is in sig. First issue in 18k miles. I'll be calling the dealer since it's under warranty, but looking to see if anyone has any insight.
No, I haven't pulled the code, I don't have a reader with me and it threw it up at 6 in the morning, about 17 degrees outside so no where is open.
Driving to work as I normally do, normal route, check engine light pops on (no other warnings pop up). Get to work, check the Ford app, it says the Engine Control System has detected that the expected engine coolant temp reading is above an expected reading. Engine temp at the time was reading about 170 degrees after about 15-20 minutes of driving, and during the rest of the drive never got over 195. So you can see why I am confused as to why it was 'above' an expected reading and not below. Truck ran and accelerated normally.
Going to be calling the dealer to get it in today, but curious if anyone has had this issue in the past or knows what the issue might be. Looking to make sure that, while I have a good relationship with this dealer, they don't try to blow smoke up my rear.
Clear the code and see if it comes back again. Sounds like a temporary sensor glitch.
I was going to when I got home, but because we share access to our vehicles the wife also saw the alert. She worries about everything, and it's under warranty anyway so it's not like it costs me anything but time.
It's at the dealer now, so I'll see what they say. Probably 'cannot replicate,' completely expecting that on this one - because I agree it's likely a sensor glitch.
