Just installed an 8" cluster in my truck. Previously had a 4" display. So, now I'm able to see coolant temperature numerically above the guage. Running around town it's only arount 175°. I expected it to be over 200°. Is this what you guys are seeing unloaded on your trucks?
Coolant temp or oil temp? Also, what is the outside temperature. Normal operating coolant temperature as shown on my dash is about 192-196. I don't often watch the oil temp, but when I have it seems to trail behind the coolant temp till it catches up to about the same. Takes several miles of driving to get there (50's-60's ambient).
It does seem low unless it just isn't given the drive time to reach operating temp. Empty, low speed surface street driving, mine takes a good 10 miles of driving to get there.

2022 F-350 XLT 6.7
I also upgraded to a 8" cluster and added gauge temps to my 2017 F350 6.7, mine runs at 192 and the transmission is always190. I live in a cold climate and it can take 10+ mile to get up to operating temp.
Photos taken on the freeway after 40 minutes of driving. It won't go over 181° and sometimes goes as low as 166°. The temperature fluxuates widely depending on engine load so the poppet must be partially open and not moving. The thermostat is supposed to begin opening at 194°. I wouldn't ever have known this without an actual temperature number. Wonder if it's been like this since new?
Mine seems to run at 189F at operating temp when running around unloaded. Loaded it can get over 200F. Pulling our camper to Chattanooga, TN a couple days ago I saw it get up to 206F on one longer climb, but otherwise it stays below 200F. Now when summer time temps gets here it may go a little higher.
Maybe some one put the low temp high flow aftermarket thermostat in it. Seems to me they run around 170
I put in a new Motorcraft thermostat and that brought the temperature up to around 190. Apparently the old thermostat was allowing flow at a lower temperature.
Mine runs 183-186 on the banks Idash unloaded. it will go to low 190's as the truck comes to temp then once the tstat opens all the way it bounces in the low 180's. towing it will run more in the mid 190's range
