I'm looking to change the seats in my '85. Currently, it doesn't have a rear seat and has to Flexsteel Captains chairs in the front. On the rear seat, I'm looking to either get another bench seat, add a couple of buckets and put a console between them, or make it a sleeping area for long trips. I think I'll be lucky to get 8 to 10 mpg with the 3 speed auto, 460 V-8 and 3.73 gearing so long trips may not be in my future.
I've heard 1980 to '97 rear seats will fot. Anybody tried that? I've got a couple of seats out of a late 90's Expedition I might see will fit in the truck somewhere. The current seats are in good shape, for what they are, but 1980's Captain's chairs are extremely soft and you sink in them. I want to keep the Gestalt of the truck but I also want it to be useable. I like red but I want ti to look a little less like something in a brothel.
80 - 96 F Series seats will bolt in, I don't think '97 will.
Ford used both body styles in '97. The OBS that year yes. The newer ones, no. I got a '97 F-250 Powerstroke years ago and it was a rainy night. I bought some wiper blades and got them for the NEW body style when my truck was the OLD body style. Lot's of fun, plus the previous owner had painted the headlights black for the black out look. Fun, fun, fun, until I stopped at a parts store after sunset.
Early to mid 80's might be scarce but the 90's should be plentiful in the yard about a 1/2 mile from me. Although a storm coming through right now will drop the temperatures below freezing until Wednesday. (It's Sunday night now.)
I have heard there is a difference with the floor mounting between the Std, Super, Crew, and Bronco. SOme may fit some not. Granted with some work anything will...

F250/350 thru to 1998 are the same as 80 thru 1996. 1999 is when they came out with the Superduty, not the same anymore.
