I'm holding off on that because it passed the cylinder contribution test which tells me the injector is OK? Its the buzz test that throws the code of low current on the cyclinder #3 indicating bad wiring. If it doesn't run good after I get done with the new UVC wiring I'm thinking I might need a new engine wiring harness because I couldn't find anything wrong with the wires when I took it apart.
Would a SD wiring harness work? That way I don't have to bother with changing the VC plugs from OBS to SD.

I have something positive to report. I finished up the uvch on the passenger side, started it up and it ran smooth. Looking down on the wire loom that splits off to the vc plug I gave it a shake. The motor started running rough! I moved it around and it smoothed out. Drove it a couple blocks and it ran good. Tomorrow we go to Vegas for a Doc appointment and then Thursday morning I'm taking the 5er two miles down the road for my warranty work. After all that I'll cut into that part of the wire loom and see what I can see.
I unwrapped the wire harness on the passenger side and I 'think' I found the problem. #3 injector wire plug where it was soldered to the harness had a bare spot on it that I believe was shorting out on the foil wrap and bare wire that goes around the wrap. I'm thinking about soldering in a new pigtail or just cover that bare spot and go for it? There is also a bare spot on one of the glow plug wires, maybe I stretched this pigtail loom at one point, IDK. While I was unwrapping the wire harness I would start it up and wiggle the wires and when it ran rough stop and unwrap some more. I got it down to what is in the picture and I can now wiggle the whole thing and it keeps running good. What is the purpose of the foil and bare wire wrap? Radio interference or what? So now I can cover the bare spots with tape or solder in a new pigtail, that is the question now!
The foil is to act like a ground for stray current
The injectors fire at 120v and that pulse can act like a transformer to the other wires, firing another injector for a split second.
If all connections are tight, wrap each connection in E tape for now and then redo pig tail when you can.
Sounds good guys BUT, a lot of that foil fell apart when removing it. Is it just aluminum foil, household stuff? I've got some of that liquid tape stuff, sounds like a plan. After going to four doctor offices today, one for me and the rest for my wife I just didn't want to get into the heat again. Getten lazy in my old age! lol
Without cutting the wires I didn't think you could use heat shrink over wires. Just cut it length wise and put it on the wire and add heat??

nope, you need to have the wires separate to use heat shrink. unless you can unpin the connector and remove the wire, put the het shrink on, then repin the connector.
