Excursion rally event in Texas

Soon after Ford introduced the Excursion in 2000, some Ford folks in leadership positions for the then recently reinvigorated Super Duty product line attended a couple of enthusiast rallies, on opposite sides of the country (Kentucky and California). I was at both of those rallies, and I couldn't help but notice that an owner of a 2WD Excursion, bedecked with a bevy of gauges on the A pillar and dash, showed up at both rallies. The difference was that I had flown to the rally, but this 2WD Excursion owner had DRIVEN to each rally, thousands of miles apart.
Drivetrain is not a determining factor for Ford Truck Enthusiasm.
