Here is my problem . 97 7.3 not getting any power to dash. nothing is coming on.
the story behind it
before winter drove it with minimal problems. something was draining batteries ( im assuming all the extra stuff put on by previous owners ). if i let it sit for more than a week batteries would be dead. after one battery lost a cell i purchased new ones and all good. right before winter i drove it home from work and then next day no power at all . so i thought maybe another battery died or cell died. pulled the truck in garage over winter. i have had batteries on a tender all winter . hooked back up and nothing again. took batteries to get checked at 2 different places and and both say good. i replaced all battery cables thinking maybe some were bad and while do so i took off all the extra stuff that someone else put on such as extra lights and etc. so with batteries fully charged and brand new cables all the way around im still not getting any power to dash. can anyone help me out with this. what should i be looking at ? what should i be testing ?
Take a look at the fender mounted starter relay. Ford used the relay for a junction for power to the cab. Make sure the nut us tight on the side that has multiple wires on it.
