I see a lot of posts when I google it. Passenger light out. Seems to come up a lot. I can't seem to find what is wrong with the passenger headlight and the high beams. Fuses are ok. Bulbs replaced. I can't possible trace the wires they go into the abyss. Going into the shop Monday. I can't even imagine what this will cost me but I hope they can fix it.
passenger side is usually fed off drivers side; it's just an extension. The failure could just be in the connector, hard to say. If you are savvy enough, I'd try to dig into it. Electrical issues can cost an arm and a leg if it' not found quickly
I've never had issues with the headlights on my 03. I do know they went with a different bulb setup probably on your 05...so that's probably part of the issue
Never had an issue on my 2005. Honestly mines even more complicated because I have a plow isolator. Never heard of a systemic problem with headlights on these trucks at all. If it were mine, I’d be digging in. A 20 year old vehicle will be costly to troubleshoot.

Mine has a Fisher plow. I went to the plow dealer and the guy started yelling at me saying if the truck light doesn't work when the plow is disconnected it has nothing to do with the plow. At first I noticed the plow light not working. It seems it's not getting power from the truck on that side.
You didn’t mention that you had a plow kit and isolator. It could be that isolator, but you do need to check that wiring. Mine was installed with those stupid squeeze taps and were corroded. I would definitely check that wiring. I would suspect that wiring or the isolator itself.
The plow wiring harness installs in a way that kind of intercepts the headlight harnesses and routes the wiring through the isolation module. There is a connector that plugs into each headlight, and a connector the truck harness connector plug into. Disconnect the truck-side headlight connector from the plow harness and check for power there. That will tell you if the problem is on the plow side or truck side
And the guy who told you the plow wiring has nothing to do with anything if the plow isn't on the truck has no clue what he's talking about.
Never heard of any design problem particular to the headlights of these trucks. Mine factory ones lasted quite a long time, I think it was right around 12 years when I first replaced the bulbs. I see you have a plow installed, that would definitely be where I'd look first. Sounds like your plow guy was attempting to dodge responsibility, while it may or may not be the cause, it certainly could be the culprit!

So first of all you're right about the plow place guy not knowing what he was talking about and yelling at me telling me it's a truck problem. I took my truck to a local mechanic I've been going to for 30 years when I have something I can't figure out myself or don't have the time to. He tested and power into the isolation module and ground are ok and nothing coming out of that to the passenger light. He disconnected both headlights and back into the factory plug and both lights now work as well as the hi beams that also didn't work. Told me to get another isolation module and two harnesses for the two lights as one was also broken at the plug. I would assume I can find these used online and the other two harnesses can stay I would assume? I had a Meyer for 20 years so this is all new to me but I think I have some time before next winter at least. It was worth 100 bucks to have somebody look at this while I had to be at work. At least I know now.
I'm glad it's resolved. You can sometimes find the harnesses online, but look up which ones your truck uses. Should be able to use Fisher's website to determine the part numbers.
