Ordering gas or buying diesel off the lot?
Search for 2025 6.7s still on the lot - on the Ford.com "search inventory" link. I saved $13K off sticker on mine. A fully decked out 6.7HO+Lariat Ultimate+Black+Tremor+moonroof+2K Pro Power for $3K less than a similarly equipped 2026 7.3. My 2025 6.7HO with options was $97K MSRP discounted to $84K vs. 2026 7.3 with same options (except those not available on gas burners) is $87K. To me it was worth it. 7.3 with 4.3 rear end = 12ish MPG average vs. 6.7 with 3.55 = 19ish avg MPG. A 50+% increase in fuel econcomy mopre than offsets the 25% increase in fuel and annual maintenance costs. Thats before accounting for SIGNIFICANTLY better towing and hauling capability and long term value retention. These are personal choices and I don't intend to offend others' choices -- this is just my calculus.
Both are fantastic! Everyone should buy what makes them happy (if they can afford it) its not like the past with a dog 5.4 in a superduty anymore with the 7.3 10 speed and also the 6.7 is very reliable at this point so win-win go ford
Thank you!
i know when i first started looking for gas hd's on gm and ford lots last fall, especially with gm, there was always a few diesels to look at but hardly saw a gasser sitting around for a drive, the ford dealer same with more diesels, the odd 7.3 and no 6.8's, big city fleet orders of 6.8 xl's were landing at that time i could look at but all sold so couldn't find one to drive...first one i drove in the end was the one i ordered and drove it after i paid for it lol, noticed lots of the diesel half tons on the gm lots also...

Around my area there are some gas trucks in dealer stock but they are almost always Lariat or higher.
Dealers hate gas XL and XLT buyers. LOL
Dealers mostly stock order diesels because (1) whenever a recreational buyer decides to check out a 3/4 ton for towing his new travel trailer everyone around him tells him to buy a diesel and (2) higher transaction price means higher loan amount meaning the dealer gets a higher cut from the bank.
