Fishon has a high milage 6.7, with no 9th injector. Guessing he missed the benefit too. What I do know is adding a feed with the filtration and a 9th injector takes additional parts, programming and ECU bandwidth. Miss, miss, miss.

Hopefully, you can educate me, how is it a benefit for anything other than tailpipe emissions, when prior generations did fine (better) without it? An EGT deal? Particulate trap cleaning?
Prior to the addition of the 9th FUEL injector regens were accomplished by overfueling all of the engines fuel injectors to get the additional diesel fuel into the exhaust to provide the burn for the regen. This method of overfueling can lead to diesel fuel diluting the engines motor oil, a bad thing as diesel is far less lubricating than motor oil and enough dilution could raise oil level to the point of getting foamed by the crankshaft, an even worse situation that greatly reduces lubrication. The 9th fuel injector (which has zero to do with DEF) adds the extra regen diesel fuel after the engine into the exhaust stream thus eliminating the previous methods fuel dilution concerns, and it should actually use a bit less fuel to complete a regen. Comparing older trucks without the 9th injector to newer trucks with it is silly, it’s not something you can add so you either have it or don’t have it depending on the trucks age. It’s not a matter of folks missing the benefit of it, it’s just the evolution of the 6.7 engine. So far as your “Gore juice” I’m assuming you mean DEF the newer trucks do use more of it to control tailpipe NOx emissions which allows for less EGR recirculation and soot feeding back into the engine vs the previous 6.7s that used more EGR leading to higher internal soot recirculation and less DEF to get to the same tailpipe NOx levels. Time will tell but the newer strategy should keep the engines cleaner and less gunked up by the EGR soot vs the earlier setup.
I’m a longtime gasser guy that is now just 2 years into modern diesel ownership with a ‘24 F-450 that we use to tow our 19K lbs fifth wheel camper all over the country. I try to educate myself about new things vs blindly ranting about new technology without an attempt to understand it and the reasons behind it. Hopefully the above will help to educate you a little on certain items.

WE3ZS, thanks that helped. Didn’t know it was an exhaust injector.

Either way my initial blind reaction was 100% correct, it’s an emissions device only. So we can dump fuel directly into the exhaust instead of thru the engine, and the trap cleaning doesn’t have to bother the engine oil. Got it.

And to me it’s still not a good thing, wasting fuel for emissions and still need lots and lots of Gore juice.

Easy for me, I don’t have massive loads to tug around. If I did, I would be looking for mid-teens low milage 6.7 ram.

For the price I'd go diesel. I've been surprised as well looking around, the gasser deals don't seem that good.

For my last two diesel trucks, I'm at a combined 560k miles and for those combined miles, I've replaced two EGR valves and serviced 1 EGR cooler, EGT and Nox sensors. No big deal...

I'll take the diesel along with massive torque... Thank you very much

Final update. I sold my '22 and I realized I will be missing some important camping trips if I wait for my ordered truck. Decided to make a deal and bought a '26 F350 STX with a 6.7. I can't believe how well this truck drives compared to my '22. I feel like it drives so smooth and isn't skipping gears. So far I'm happy with it!

So you are going to pass on your ordered 7.3?

In any case congrats, that's a banging truck.

Lol yeah I went back and forth on it for far too long. I guess you can call it analysis paralysis.

Looking forward to making memories in the new truck.

Search for 2025 6.7s still on the lot - on the Ford.com "search inventory" link. I saved $13K off sticker on mine. A fully decked out 6.7HO+Lariat Ultimate+Black+Tremor+moonroof+2K Pro Power for $3K less than a similarly equipped 2026 7.3. My 2025 6.7HO with options was $97K MSRP discounted to $84K vs. 2026 7.3 with same options (except those not available on gas burners) is $87K. To me it was worth it. 7.3 with 4.3 rear end = 12ish MPG average vs. 6.7 with 3.55 = 19ish avg MPG. A 50+% increase in fuel econcomy mopre than offsets the 25% increase in fuel and annual maintenance costs. Thats before accounting for SIGNIFICANTLY better towing and hauling capability and long term value retention. These are personal choices and I don't intend to offend others' choices -- this is just my calculus.

If you look up a couple of posts I already bought a truck yesterday. I ended up going with a STX with a 6.7.
