Intermittent starting issues

Hey All - I have been having a weird starting issue with my 2019 Ford F150 XLT 5.0.
Truck will start up just fine, even after sitting for a few days, but after short drive [5-10 min] If I turn the truck off and try to start it a few min later, it cranks slow as if the battery is low.
If I wait for 10-20 minutes, the truck will start back up just fine and crank over just fine when I get home and then not have any issues for a while.
Have noticed I'm always waiting in the cold, so that does seem to be a common trend when I have issues [25F or below].

Battery is original so 6-7 years old.
Realizing that should be my first go to, but seems weird since it starts fine when this happens, so with a junk battery I would almost expect it to do this when I first start it.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

There was thread on this a few years ago, most of the problems were happening when they were towing but some of them were with the truck alone. I fixed my slow cranking problem with a new starter.

That is a sometimes symptom of a starter getting creaky when it gets heated up. That is the first place I would look.

I agree, sounds like starter, but honestly, I'd start with the battery, it is time. Mine of 6 years almost to the day, has finally shown enough signs that I bought one today.

It wouldn't be out of line to replace this battery without any further diagnosis, BUT, if you wanted you could mess around with battery chargers and voltage testers etc and see what you find. I actually really like those voltage displays that plug into your cigarette lighter. You can get a good idea of voltage before you start, while driving, and a dozen times a day if you want. Could help you find some pattern to the situation that isn't obvious from teh symptoms so far.

My bet is starter.

Change the battery for PM maintenance and cheap insurance for when it does die.

After that see if your starting woes go away.

5.0's heat soak the starter. After so many heat cycles it does exactly what your experiencing. We replace about 1 a week
