Center Console Front Lid Replacement
We have a 2022 F250 Lariat and the other day one of our dogs chewed the leather on the top console. Stepped into the store for a minute and she decided she wanted to see if she could get inside of it to get some treats apparently. She's 11 and this has never happened previously in all the times of leaving her in the truck but she was apparently feeling very troublesome that day.
My question is how easy is it to replace this? Can we just replace the leather portion? Or do we need to replace the lid completely. There isn't a ton of info out there where people have replaced the lid themselves. We are pretty handy when it comes to car mechanics and have completed several modifications before on vehicles.
I've added some links to possible repair options. Dealership is saying that it can't be done at home because of the lock but I also don't know if they are just saying that to get the service and money,
The plastic isn't badly damaged so I wondered if just replacing the leather was a feasible option:

This is the part online that the dealer said we would need if we replaced the entire front lid component.

Thank you in advance d for any suggestions or tips!
