No more fuel leaks

Replaced the gas tank this weekend. I forgot how tight it is with the trailer hitch hanging inside the frame. But got it swapped out.

It had a leak really close to the seam of the two halves. Much more than a 1/4 tank and it would drip.

One of those you hate to fix... But really nice to have it fixed.

Yep. The receiver hitch definitely makes it harder. Mine was leaking from the seam or
right above it.

Exactly. It started leaking right before the weather changed for the colder. But I was having some health issues and I could be fine enough to fix it and halfway through end up not being able to. So I ran it almost empty and let the area dry. Then slathered on a bunch of MarineTex to seal it till I got a little healthier. Aaaannnnddd then it was -20 degrees. So as soon as I saw it was going to be in the 40s for a few days I ran it pretty much dry. And dropped it out. Oddly the new tank has the seams rolled down on the rear corners. Like the manufacturer planned ahead for the hitch... no complaints here.

Yeah it does. Like I stated in the last post, the new one is rolled at the seam and clears the hitch pretty well.

I need to do that to both tanks... I've been putting it off until I get
around to pulling the bed to clean up the frame and rust and
wiring and exhaust and...

I'm exhausted.
