Cell Phone Issue

I have a 24 F350 LU. I have a Samsung cell phone so, I use Android Auto to make and receive calls while driving. When I make a call many times the other party doesn't answer. Upon checking they tell me my calls show up as a "Private Number" so they don't answer.
I did a test call with my wife's phone and sure enough when I call her cell from the pickup it displays "Private Number" on her phone. I checked and My Phone connects automatically through Android Auto.
Any suggestions how to get my number to be displayed to others on my outgoing calls instead of displaying private number?

Odd behavior. Does this happen when you make a call when NOT connected to Android Auto? If it happens when NOT connected to Android Auto, it sounds like a carrier settings issue.

If it ONLY happens when connected to Android Auto, this sounds like an Android Auto settings issue, or some other setting on your phone. The truck isn't making the call, your phone is, and should have no affect on it.

Are you paying for the Ford/AT&T wifi plan?
It could be the truck calling from the wifi plan phone number.

never ever heard that one
It uses your number assigned to the phone
Andriod last few updates has been tricky even not using car play
Its interaction with call in sync has caused delayed answer
Delayed end of call
And loss of use of data if not connected to wifi

Try not using car play
Then use your phone not connected to truck
To isolate
also the telemetrics update wrinkled a few things
but my truck fixed itself sort of
I use my truck's wifi..as well

Here is an update:I called my daughter with the Android Auto up in the pickup. My caller ID came in as private number. I then disconnect the Android Auto and used just the phone icon on the synch sytem and called my daughter back. My ID displayed my name. So, the issue has to be with Android Auto. Not sure what settings to look at...

Make sure the Android Auto app has all permissions allowed and none denied.

Clear the app cache for the Android Auto app.

Samsung likes to include their own phone dialer app on their devices. I would try installing the Google Phone dialer app from the Play Store and set it as the default dialer, then make a test call.

8th

I have done all this as well as, evwn deleting my phone from the pickup and reinstalled it. I have gone through all the settings in the Synch, the phone, the dialer, and Android Auto to see if I may have missed something and haven't from what I can see.
Calling out while connected through android Auto it still displays unknown caller or private number.
I will call Ford's technology dept and see if they have any answers....

Did you do the swap of the phone dialer app? The Samsung Phone Dialer swapped for Google Phone Dialer.

This really shouldn't matter. I have a 24 F350 and use Android Auto all the time, with a Samsung Galaxy phone and have not had the issue described. It may be a settings issue on the phone, but I don't use Google's Dialer.
