I looked at the 5a fuse on the passenger kick panel box and it looks good. Under the hood drivers side there is a relay/fuse box. The blower motor relay, and all the relays, or most of them have the same part number on them. If I swap a different relay into the one that controls the blower with one with the same part no. is there one that is better to use than another? I can't find another fuse listed for the blower... am I missing something? Thanks
Not sure about a 2008 but on my 2006 it turned out to be the blower motor itself. I would seem to blow a relay every 6 months or so. I finally pulled the blower motor - it did work, BUT grabbing the squirl cage and turning it - it was very stiff. replaced the blower motor and all was well.
I hope it's not the blower motor. I don't even know where to get to it on my truck. I'll try a new relay, but like you experienced if it blew one relay, how long will the next one last without fixing the cause.
Thanks
I watched a youtube video on replacing the blower motor, and it's easier than I had envisioned. Now I need to figure out why it's not working, before I start buying parts.
I unplugged the connection to the blower motor and turned on the blower. There was no power at the connection and the plug in looked good. So I replaced the relay for the blower. Ford parts said the relay was updated. I don't know what that means, but the blower works with the new relay. I'm not sure why the relay blew. It could be that the blower is going bad. If it blows another relay, I should probably replace the blower. Those relays cost almost $30. I'll report back if this relay is only a temp fix. The blower motor from Ford costs about $170.
