I need some help on a non-ford related topic. If this is the correct forum, let her rip!
I have a '94 Olds Regency 98, and I was driving it home yesterday and the blower motor would stay on even when I cut the a/c off, and then when I turned the ignition key off and even got out of the car. When I got home I pulled the A/C fuse to get the blower motor to stop. Then, I systematically pulled a relay, plugged the a/c fuse back in, blower motor came back on......pull a/c fuse again, replace relay, pull next relay, plug a/c fuse back in, blower motor comes back on, repeat process until all relays have been pulled. I managed to troubleshoot each relay that I could find, which were a total of 5 or 6 right on the firewall, basically. I just had to pull the a/c fuse and leave it out for now.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
dang....I can probably figure it out on the Ford Truck but I'm not as good on this Oldsmobile. I'm going to get a manual this afternoon from a friend on the Buick Park Avenue (very similiar).
The blower switch....would it be in the controls or where would it be?
That would be the switch you turn to change the speed of the blower. I would think it would be more apt to go open instead of short circuiting. A diagram would make it easy to fix.
ok...makes sense. You can change the speed of the fan to your desire, you can make the air cooler or warmer, but when you turn it off, it just keeps blowing and changes to the vents where defrosting would occur.
It sounds like the switch is ok. I am just too used to the older ones that had an off position on the switch. You need to find out how the switch gets +12.
