Polishing questions
2005 f350 dark blue (dont know the color code, maybe ford metallic blue or true blue?) And the only panels on my truck that have light oxidation/mineral residue is the front 2 fenders and the hood. the rest is fine. can i wash the truck, and then clay bar, polish, and wax those panels only, while the others just wash and wax? Or will that make the panels look mismatch in terms of shine/gloss

IMHO, don't waste your time with clay bar. After washing the vehicle, wipe the fenders down with 50/50 alcohol/water. I would use a polish like 3m finesse II.. which is a little more aggressive than a typical car wax/polish but not anywhere near rubbing compound level. This may take a couple of tries but it will probably address your issues (without seeing the paint). It is important to keep the paint cool (if using a machine)... misting the paint surface with a little distilled water is your friend.... the new gen paints do not like high abrasion or heat.
I'm a thorough believer in clay bars.If you run the back of your hand over a paint area and you can hear it, clay bar it. It will come out as smooth as a baby's but after it removes the contaminites. Wax cain't do that. It's not abrasive it removes abrasives.
