Yep decided F it since im going hydroboost and I already had a vac pump die on me once. I do think its expensive for what it is but will be nice to have a simplified option
Let me know how it turns out, all of those kits are expensive the e-fuel etc, but simplicity and ease of install in sometimes worth the lack of hassle.
I know I’ve seen that thread and it’s great but I was just talking about the available kits and the ease to expense ratio and that sometimes it worth it.
When that one upped and left, did it do so with the warning squeak beforehand?
I might order one from Napa which comes with the pulley and keep it in my truck. Its pretty insane that there are no US manufactured pumps available.
there was a squeak but I did notice the grease prior to squeaking behind the pulley. It squeaked for about 100 miles then froze on that drive home.

Disconcerting to say the least, as noted my squeaking on start of has stopped and now under load it sounds like a gravely ticking, like a fan blade rubbing but more nuanced. Unfortunately due to the big snow, my pulley puller has been delayed in delivery, trying to drive as little as possible until then.
Got the vacuum pump in today, using studs was a nice simplification so thanks for that suggestion.
i still have that ticking sound heard above under load unfortunately. It started after removing the fan and shroud for doing the balancer and LPOP and it sounds like a fan blade hitting, but it’s not. I’m hoping its not sticking valve or injector woes but I don’t see what else it could be.
Could be an exahust leak, either in the up pipes or the exhaust manifolds. Check for soot, if unable to see soot and adventure a leaf blower or vac/blower pump pressurized your exhaust and have a soap/water solution and spray on all the exhaust joints pre turbo to see if there's a leak somewhere.

I have a leaf blower so just neck down the pipe after the air filter to accommodate the diameter and pressurize from there?
