Okay, I may have some light to shed on this after a 3-day, 26 hour, 1500 mile trip with multiple stops and destinations. This regarding the truck in sig:
Apple iPhone 15 Pro
Wireless CarPlay
Google Maps
It only shows on the HUD/Dash* if you get directions AFTER you've started the truck and connected to CarPlay. Whenever I got the directions BEFORE getting in the truck I did not get turn-by-turn on the HUD. The only thing I didn't test for was whether I got directions from the phone as opposed from the CarPlay screen - I only ever did it from the CarPlay screen. It MAY be that getting the directions on the phone (whether connected to CarPlay or not) is the trigger.
*I get TbT in both places (or not) simultaneously.
I have an early built 2024 Lariat Ultimate. Seems like everyone has the turn by turn navigation in the heads-up display. But I do not. For some reason, the early built MY2024 do not have this feature. Why did you do this Ford? And why can’t this be fixed?
I also have a '24 early build Lariat Ultimate, and just like yours it did not have nav directions on the HUD. For me, it was a one line adjustment in ForScan, line 50 (labeled "Navigation Display on HUD") in the spreadsheet:
Just ticked that number over, and now it works with no issues. I use google maps via android auto.
