When I run my truck with the chip in the "stock" position, I get 18psi. With my chip in the "extreme" position, I get 24psi. Then, when I turn the propane on, I can hit 30psi.
To answer your question, a stock truck will hit the high teens.
usaually for me i jus full around and test her out but everything that i tow i cant go past 20-30 mph. (farm equip) so i never get a chance to test that out.
The higher boost numbers come when the truck is under load. For me, that's tearing up a 12% hill on the way home from work. I lock out OD, and mash the pedal. The tach, speedo, boost gauge, and pyro all sweep from left to right in unison, just like the Rockettes.
The throttle response in my truck is awesome, but I noticed the boost gauge going up to approx 18 PSI, unloaded. Now, I'm not staring at it while under hard acceleration for obvious reasons. It seems to me I should get a little more?
To me this truck ROCKS, but if my boost #'s are too low I could be missing out!
Daddy - I put my gauges in first and saw max stock was about 15psig with K&N filter. After the Banks kit it goes to 25psig max and the acceleration is down right scary from 40-65.
Hey 1BADF350, I pulled this quote outa the "fuel mileage" post
we're on. Thought you mighta wanted it here instead !! Anyway, I called Banks today. They said that with the "stinger plus" kit (like we have) I should see approx 18-20 PSI maybe 21-22 if under a load i.e towing etc. The other interesting thing he said was there should be virtually NO black smoke under acceleration if it's set up just right!?!?! I don't know why I didn't think about calling them first! My truck does NOT put out any black smoke and I see approx 18 psi under unloaded acceleration. So, the good new is my truck (according to Banks) is set up perfectly! The bad news is that I can't talk about all the smoke or 20+ PSI boost numbers! At least not until I hook up the Formula to the back of the truck and then see what she can do w/10K lbs behind her!
call swamp donkey and get him to mod your injectors.....you can hit 45 easy with the stock turbo.....not saying it or your head gaskets will last long though
