If you did a Google search, then you probably know that mold under the PPF is almost always poor prep and installation. Not preparing the surface correctly, not getting all the water out, etc. I responded negatively to your post because you were basically saying no PPF in the south because of the product. That's not true.

You suggested I had an agenda while stating that your shop does ceramic coatings and won't do PPF. For the record, that is an actual "agenda." I will go back to taking care of the vehicle. Who would let their vehicle get to the condition of the one you pictured in your post without resolution? This is, IMHO, poor workmanship exacerbated by poor maintenance. You can likely find 10,000% more cars in Mississippi with poor repaint jobs than with poor PPF, would you tell people not to repaint their vehicle if it were damaged? Of course not.

Find a reputable installer, make sure they are using a high quality PPF, ask them if they have it on their personal vehicle and ask to see it. At any rate, sorry if your feelings were hurt, that wasn't my intention. BTW whats the YMM and mileage of the vehicle in your pictures?
What I'm saying is you don't have the data to support sweeping statements like that but carry on. The more you type the more clear it becomes. That's the agenda you have and your attack of me is laughable at best. The guy I referenced gets asked all the time to do ppf and refuses and that is why. It is clearly a hot money maker right now but he isn't willing to risk his business or reputation over it. 40 years of being his own boss says plenty. He's the most respected guy around and when he talks people listen. He knows what lies ahead. He does offer ceramic coating because he has had great success with it. As far as poor paint jobs the only paint.body guy I use is the best in the business and he doesn't offer ppf either. I don't do business with anyone who isn't the best in their field . As far as what I would tell people here? Don't use ppf if you care about your paint. Simple.

Says the random guy on the internet with a pic where he can't even provide YMM and mileage, much less the brand and installer. The only facts here is that you have an opinion with zero evidence. I called you on that opinion. You double down. How about listing this shop that won't do PPF? How about the YMM and mileage on the pics you posted? How about the brand of PPF and who installed it. Those are called "facts" of which you have none. How about more than one vehicle? My original post stands. You are generalizing a specific incident with UNKNOWN variables to a general population. It happens so much in life that there is a term for it called junk science.

Reality Check #1: you are a random dude on the internet providing dubious information with no validation about the perils of PPF in the south across a general population
Reality Check #2: PPF gets installed in the south all the time yet there seems to be no mass hysteria and calls for class action lawsuits, etc that would normally accompany a product that not only fails its primary purpose, but also causes damage to another product as you have so claimed? Mysterious...
Reality Check #3: I am also a random dude on the internet, but I am not making outlandish claims that you can't use PPF in the south with zero evidence
Reality Check #4: As is common in scenarios where people use junk science to make a broad brush opinion and claim it as fact, the typical response when called on it is to tell the person calling them on it to prove it. LOL.

Either put up with more data to support these wild claims or move on. I'm not here to do your research for you.

Thanks for the comedy and revelation. That's the only reality check needed. Carry on. It is quite entertaining to say the least.
